The Orlando Project

The Orlando Project is writing the first full scholarly history of women’s writing in the British Isles. We are providing an overarching account of women’s writing across the centuries that addresses issues raised by recent feminist thinkers and scholars of women’s writing. To facilitate the breadth of this work, we are using computers throughout the project to store and manipulate basic research material in the form of biographical accounts of most British women writers, as well as a detailed chronology. We are thus developing new computing tools which will allow very flexible access to our multimedia material. If you are reading this, you may be using a browser that does not support frames. We no longer maintain a no-frames version of our site. Read More
