Tip: Our boys have learned how to cool off naturally. When the weather is especially warm they find a deep spot on our stream to stand and cool off. The water brings down their body temperature and makes them much more comfortable. I am glad you stopped by and hope you will find yourself charmed by a llama or two. Our llamas are pets, including our special boy "Charlie". Charlie first appeared on the TV channel Animal Planet on September 14, 2000. The series is called "Pet Story" and is about the special bond between owners and their special pets. Charlie's episode was called "Llama Love"... be sure to watch for the reruns as he has been on a dozen times . Vesdom Acres Llamas

Vesdom Acres Llamas Welcome to Vesdom Acres Llamas. We have a small farm located in the beautiful Willamette Valley of NW Oregon. Located just 35 miles southwest of Portland, we enjoy the quiet rural lifestyle of the beautiful Oregon Wine Country. In 1995, we were approached by a neighbor who ask if she could use our empty pasture to put a few of her llamas in. After spending a year enjoying those guys, and doing a lot of research, we decided if we were going to have llamas in our pasture, they should be ours. We visited about half the llama farms in the Willamette Valley, there are LOTS of llama farms in northwest Oregon. We found a the most wonderful male, a *Chavito son, who stole my heart. We purchased him along with two great females from Rain Dance Ranch Llamas and the dream began. W Read More

WELCOME to Holly Llamas

Click here to see the java version with snow falling Welcome to Holly Llamas. We're a small llama farm located about 20 miles north of Seattle. My husband and I have been raising llamas since 1987 when our two sons left home. Some have said it was empty nest syndrome. I think it was love at first sight! At the time our sons moved out, we had a couple of female pygmy goats, a male and two female Japanese sitka deer and a female burro. We have such limited space (only 1 3/4 acres) but had managed to raise a variety of animals while our sons were growing up. Our experiences with cows, a wonderful quarterhorse and other assorted livestock had given us some background in raising critters. We knew nothing about llamas, though, when an ad in a local newspaper for a llama for sale caught our eyes. Read More

Why Llamas

Votes:0
Why Llamas ??? Llamas add contentment to your life. Llamas are clean & intelligent. They make excellent pets and companions. Llamas are easy to raise and are low maintenance. Gentle and inquisitive, small children and seniors can easily handle them. Llamas are quiet, peaceful animals and make humming sounds to communicate. Llamas only eat between 4-6 lbs. of hay per day and require no special diet. They graze and browse and have a very efficient digestive system. Llamas require little space; 1/8 of an acre is fine for a llama and 4 foot field fence is usually adequate. The llama's beauty and dignity soothes the soul. Llamas are easy to train to lead, load and carry a pack. The ultimate packing companion, llamas have low impact on the environment. Llamas use communal "potty" piles Read More
