Methods: Implant was inserted into a resin model with 300 inclinations. The distance between the inclination surface to the top of implant was 2 mm and it was 10.06mm between the implant-abutment interface to the top of the crown. The fatigue test was measured by the Instron 8511.20 materiel test machine which controlled by computer. 15Kg force was applied to the crown's top at 13 times per second. The fatigue cyclic were recorded by computer when the test was finished. The periotest value(PTV) were measured every 0.2??106 cycles and the end of the test. Th Read More

In cases where non-absorbable implants are placed, it is necessary to remove them after orthodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of the absorbable implant for orthodontic anchorage. Methods: The maxillary and mandibular bones of six male Beagle dogs (ten-months old, 10~11kg) were used. After healing periods of three months after the extraction of the 4th premolars (P4), the absorbable implant (FIXSORB-MX, Takiron company, Japan, poly lactic acid, a molecular weight 200,000, mini-screw-type 2. TENENBAUM, University of Toronto, Canada Pain is a subjective sensation. The data on pain experience in the elderly population is limited and conflicting. Objective: To determine if there are age differences in post-operative pain and other complications following dental implant surgery. Methods: All patients underwent implant surgery, for two stage implants of types EndoporeTM and 3ITM. Implants were inserted and a standard pre and post-operative clinical management protocol was followed per study guidelines. The patients were being asked to complete questionnaires pre-operatively, immediate post-operatively and at a one-week Read More

3053 Biochemical Markers of Bone Metabolism to Assess Dental Implant Osseointegration P. MORELAND , University of Texas - San Antonio / Health Science Ctr, USA, and T. OATES, University of Texas San Antonio / Health Science Ctr, USA Biochemical markers of bone metabolism have been identified in peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) from stably integrated implants. These findings suggest that biomarkers may be useful in evaluating early bone healing events for dental implants. Objective: This study was designed to investigate the presence of biomarkers in PICF over the first few months following implant placement. Methods: PICF samples were collected from three patients at time points ranging from 1 to 6 weeks, and in one patient, up to 4 months following the placement of dental implants. PI Read More
